Product Specific Information

The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the μ heavy chain of mouse IgM and does not cross-react with other mouse immunoglobulin classes (IgD, IgG, IgA). IgM is expressed intracellularly during early B cell development and on the surface of mature B cells in bone marrow and peripheral tissues. FITC-conjugated II/41 can be used as a detection secondary for mouse IgM.

Applications Reported:
Flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry.

Applications Tested:

• Flow cytometry of mouse bone marrow cells: ≤ 0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
• Immunocytochemistry of fixed cells: ≤ 10 µg/mL.
  Careful titration is recommended for optimal assay performance.

Target Information

Mouse IgM is the first antibody produced during an immune response and is the largest immunoglobulin in serum. It consists of five heavy and five light chains, playing a key role in complement activation and antigen agglutination. Mouse IgM is widely used in research and diagnostic applications such as ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
