Product Specific Information

This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:

  • Better specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulation
  • Broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire

This antibody has specificity for Canine PD1/PDCD1/CD279.

Target Information

Cell-mediated immune responses are initiated by T lymphocytes that are stimulated by cognate peptides bound to MHC molecules on antigen-presenting cells (APCs).
Activated T cells express receptors such as PD-1 (also known as PDCD-1) that mediate inhibitory signals from the APC. PD-1 binds two related ligands, PDL-1 and PDL-2, and upon binding, transmits inhibitory signals that suppress immune activation in the absence of danger signals (e.g., LPS or pathogen-associated molecules).
PD1-deficient mice exhibit hyperactivated immune systems and autoimmune diseases. Despite its predicted molecular weight, PD-1 often migrates at higher molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
