Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Cynomolgus CD53.
Target Information
CD53 is a tetraspanin family transmembrane glycoprotein expressed in the lymphoid-myeloid lineage. It forms complexes with other leukocyte surface proteins such as CD2, CD19, CD21, MHC II, VLA-4, or tetraspanins CD37, CD81, and CD82, modulating various signaling processes.
CD53 is involved in radioresistance of tumor cells and has anti-apoptotic effects. In the thymus, CD53 is upregulated during T cell positive selection and is strongly expressed upon macrophage exposure to bacterial lipopolysaccharide, whereas neutrophil stimulation results in downregulation of CD53 expression.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
