Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Thrombomodulin (TM), also known as Fetomodulin (FM), endothelial anticoagulant protein, or glycoprotein P112, contains six repeated domains homologous to epidermal growth factor (EGF) and an amino-terminal domain homologous to lectin-like protein.
Through its accelerated activation of protein C, TM synthesis is one of several mechanisms important in maintaining thrombo-resistance and reducing clot formation on endothelial surfaces.
Immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed tissue for TM has been used in studies of vascular tumors, meningiomas, and choriocarcinomas.
