Target Information
Protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases involved in the negative regulation of cell growth and division. PP2A holoenzymes are heterotrimeric, consisting of a structural subunit A, a catalytic subunit C, and a regulatory subunit B. The B subunit family includes B/PR55, B′/PR61, and B″/PR72, each conferring distinct enzymatic specificity and intracellular localization. The PP2A activator encoded by this gene functions as a phosphotyrosyl phosphatase activator of the dimeric form of PP2A. Multiple isoforms are generated through alternative splicing.
