Product Specific Information

  • Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in various biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion.
FGF23 inhibits renal tubular phosphate transport and is associated with autosomal dominant hypophosphatemic rickets, an inherited phosphate wasting disorder. High expression levels are found in oncogenic hypophosphatemic osteomalacia, a disease caused by abnormal phosphate metabolism. Mutations in this gene also cause familial tumoral calcinosis with hyperphosphatemia.
