Product Specific Information

• Description: Monoclonal rat IgG2a, kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
• Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis as an isotype control.
• Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometry using mouse splenocytes. Use at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.
• Fluorochrome Information: Super Bright 702 is a tandem dye excited by the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 702 nm. Recommended detection with a 710/50 bandpass filter.
• Staining Recommendations: When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4400) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
• Light Sensitivity: Protect from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.
• Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.
• Excitation/Emission: 405 nm / 702 nm (Violet Laser)

Target Information

Rat IgG2a is an immunoglobulin subclass produced by the rat immune system. It activates complement and mediates antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). With a molecular weight of ~160 kDa, it consists of two heavy and two light chains. Commonly used as a control or reference antibody in experiments involving rat models, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry.
