Target Information
BRD4 is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear phosphoprotein belonging to the BET family. It is the human homolog of mouse MCAP and contains two N-terminal bromodomains, a central ET-domain, and several kinase-like motifs. BRD4 is expressed in two isoforms, with the longer variant containing a C-terminal proline- and glutamine-rich region. It regulates cell growth, chromosomal dynamics during mitosis, and serves as a cellular target for the papillomavirus E2 protein.
