Product Specific Information
This antibody was generated to a peptide corresponding to C-intron 4-encoded sequence.
It does not cross-react with the full-length HLA-G1 isoform and thus allows distinction between secreted HLA-G5 and HLA-G6 isoforms from shedded HLA-G1.
Target Information
HLA-G belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin). The heavy chain is anchored in the membrane and is approximately 45 kDa.
The gene contains 8 exons:
- Exon 1: leader peptide
- Exons 2–3: alpha1 and alpha2 domains (peptide-binding)
- Exon 4: alpha3 domain
- Exon 5: transmembrane region
- Exon 6: cytoplasmic tail
HLA-G is expressed on fetal-derived placental cells.
