Product Specific Information

  • 1 µg/mL of MA5-45559 detects SUR1 in 20 µg of mouse brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
  • Detects approximately 160 kDa.
  • Does not cross-react with SUR2B.
  • Formerly sold as clone S289-16.

Target Information

The SUR1 protein belongs to the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. These proteins mediate transport of various molecules across cellular membranes. SUR1 functions as a modulator of ATP-sensitive potassium channels and insulin release.
Mutations in this gene are associated with hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy and type II diabetes mellitus. Alternative splicing variants exist but are not fully characterized.
