  • 1 µg/mL of MA5-45560 was sufficient for detection of SUR1 in 20 µg of mouse brain membrane lysate.
  • Detection performed by colorimetric immunoblot using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
  • Detects approximately 160 kDa.
  • Does not cross-react with SUR2B.
  • This antibody was formerly sold as clone S289-16.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes and are divided into seven distinct subfamilies. This protein is part of the MRP subfamily involved in multi-drug resistance and functions as a modulator of ATP-sensitive potassium channels and insulin release.
Mutations or deficiencies in this protein are linked to hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus type II. Alternative splicing has been observed, but transcript variants are not fully described.
