Product Specific Information

  • 1 µg/mL of MA5-45558 was sufficient for detection of SUR1 in 20 µg of mouse brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
  • Detects approximately 160 kDa.
  • Does not cross-react with SUR2B.
  • This antibody was formerly sold as clone S289-16.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. ABC proteins mediate transport of various molecules across cellular membranes and are grouped into seven subfamilies. This protein is part of the MRP subfamily related to multi-drug resistance. It modulates ATP-sensitive potassium channels and insulin release. Mutations are linked to hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy and type II diabetes mellitus. Alternative splicing has been observed but not fully characterized.
