Target Information
The Syntaxin 3 gene belongs to the syntaxin family. The encoded protein localizes to the apical membrane of epithelial cells, where it forms clusters and contributes to establishing and maintaining cell polarity essential for vesicle trafficking, fusion, and exocytosis. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants.
