The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Myozenin 2 (also known as calsarcin-1) is a calcineurin-binding protein belonging to the calsarcin family. Calcineurin is a calcium- and calmodulin-dependent phosphatase that regulates slow fiber gene expression in skeletal muscle and cardiac hypertrophy. Calsarcins couple calcineurin and muscle activity by binding calcineurin to α-actinin at the Z-line of the sarcomere. Myozenin 2 is expressed in adult cardiac and slow-twitch skeletal muscle, while Myozenin 1 is found in fast skeletal muscle. The MYOZ2 gene is located on chromosome 4q.
