The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as confirmed by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

Mitochondrial creatine kinase (MtCK) is responsible for transferring high-energy phosphate from mitochondria to the cytosolic carrier, creatine. It belongs to the creatine kinase isoenzyme family and exists as two isoenzymes: sarcomeric MtCK and ubiquitous MtCK, encoded by separate genes.
MtCK occurs in two oligomeric forms—dimers and octamers—unlike cytosolic creatine kinase, which is exclusively dimeric. Sarcomeric MtCK shares 80% homology with the coding exons of ubiquitous MtCK. This gene includes motifs common among nuclear genes encoding mitochondrial proteins, potentially essential for coordinated activation during mitochondrial biogenesis. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
