Target Information
TCEB1, also known as protein elongin C, is a subunit of the transcription factor B (SIII) complex. This complex, composed of elongins A/A2, B, and C, activates elongation by RNA polymerase II by suppressing transient pausing at multiple sites within transcription units.
Elongin A acts as the transcriptionally active component, while elongins B and C serve as regulatory subunits. Elongin A2 is testis-specific and forms a stable complex with elongins B and C. The von Hippel-Lindau tumor suppressor protein binds to elongins B and C, thereby inhibiting transcription elongation.
Western blot analysis using two different antibodies (P100962-T200 and P100963_P050 / P100963_P100) against distinct regions of this protein confirmed consistent molecular weights in testing.
