Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Recombinant rat GRO should be reconstituted in sterile, distilled water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Recombinant rat GRO is also soluble in most buffered solutions. Further dilutions should be made in buffered solution with carrier protein such as PBS with 1% BSA.

Storage: This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2°C to 8°C, but should be kept at -20°C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 2°C to 8°C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

CXCL1, CXCL2, and CXCL3, also known respectively as GRO alpha, GRO beta (MIP-2 alpha) and GRO gamma (MIP-2 beta), are members of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. Mature CXCL1/2/3 proteins bind with high affinity to the IL-8 receptor type B and are potent neutrophil attractants and activators. In vitro, the processed forms GRO-alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) show a 30-fold higher chemotactic activity.
