Product Specific Information
Reconstitution:
Dissolve the contents of the vial by injection of 150 µL sterile distilled water.
Lyophilized product is stable for a defined period at -20°C.
After reconstitution, divide into small aliquots for single use and store at -80°C.
After thawing, the cytokine is stable for at least four weeks at 4°C.
Target Information
IFN alpha (Interferon alpha) is a Type I interferon belonging to a family of structurally related, species-specific proteins exclusive to vertebrates.
The interaction of IFN-alpha with its receptor components activates multiple signaling pathways involved in innate immune responses against viral infection.
In humans, the IFN alpha gene is located on chromosome 9.
Type I interferons include 14 alpha isoforms and single beta, omega, epsilon, and kappa isoforms.
Homologous molecules exist in many species, including rats, mice, birds, reptiles, and fish.
Produced mainly by plasmacytoid dendritic cells, IFN alpha is a potent component of the antiviral innate immune response and modulates adaptive immunity.
Dysfunction of IFN alpha is associated with diseases such as Hepatitis C and Hepatitis.
For Research Use Only.
Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
