Product Specific Information
- In Western blots, this antibody does not cross-react with recombinant mouse IL-10.
- Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody by the LAL method.
Target Information
IL-10 encodes a cytokine primarily produced by monocytes and some lymphocytes. It plays a key role in immunoregulation and inflammation by down-regulating Th1 cytokines, MHC class II antigens, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages. IL-10 enhances B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production, blocks NF-kappa B activity, and regulates the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Knockout studies indicate IL-10 as an essential immunoregulator in the intestinal tract. Mutations in IL10 are linked to increased susceptibility to HIV-1 infection and rheumatoid arthritis. Diseases associated with IL10 include Graft-Versus-Host Disease and Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1.
