Product Specific Information
- In sandwich ELISAs, less than 0.05% cross-reactivity with recombinant human TNF-beta, mouse TNF-alpha, rat TNF-alpha, and porcine TNF-alpha is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR receptors. TNF alpha regulates immune cell activity, proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation. It forms multimers and appears as a 17 kDa band under non-reducing SDS-PAGE conditions. Studies indicate neuroprotective roles and tumor necrosis induction in mice. TNF alpha is involved in immune responses to infections and tumor cytotoxicity, and implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
