MA3-049 detects histone H3 in human samples and has been successfully used in Western blot, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence applications.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide conjugated to ovalbumin corresponding to residues 8–19 of human histone H3, which is highly conserved across multiple species.
Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Along with other core histones, it binds to DNA to form nucleosomes, the fundamental unit of chromatin structure.
Histones play key roles in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes various post-translational modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing chromatin structure and gene expression.
