Product Specific Information

MA3-047 detects Histone H2A in human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot and ELISA applications.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide conjugated to ovalbumin corresponding to residues 115–124 of human Histone H2A, which is highly conserved across multiple species.


Target Information

Histones are basic nuclear proteins responsible for the nucleosome structure of chromosomal fibers in eukaryotes.
Two molecules of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units called nucleosomes.
The linker histone H1 interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in chromatin compaction.
This gene is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H4 family. Transcripts lack polyA tails but contain a palindromic termination element.
It is located within the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6.
