Product Specific Information

This antibody was cross-adsorbed to phospho-N-cadherin (Tyr-820) peptide before affinity purification using unphosphorylated N-cadherin (Tyr-820) peptide.
The purified antibody detects a strong band at 130 kDa in western blots of serum-starved human endothelial cells, but the signal decreases in pervanadate-treated cells.
This reactivity is specifically blocked by the unphosphorylated N-cadherin (Tyr-820) peptide.

Target Information

N-cadherin is a 140 kDa transmembrane protein that mediates calcium-dependent intercellular adhesion.
Cadherins regulate morphogenetic movements during development and control cell surface adhesion through homotypic interactions.
N-cadherin function depends on its association with the actin cytoskeleton via catenin proteins, with stability regulated by β-catenin phosphorylation and dephosphorylation.
It is a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein with five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail.
N-cadherin plays a crucial role during gastrulation and is required for the establishment of left-right asymmetry.
