Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of a selection of multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.

While functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies—recognizing multiple epitope sites and providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets—Superclonal™ antibodies have a defined mixture of light and heavy chains that can be identically reproduced in every lot. This eliminates the biological variability commonly seen in polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

OTX2 is a 289-amino-acid protein that belongs to the bicoid sub-family of homeodomain-containing transcription factors. It has two known splice variants with distinct isoforms, though other forms may exist.

OTX2 serves as an early marker of endodermal differentiation in embryonic stem cells and plays a role in brain and sensory organ development. It binds to the BCD target sequence (BTS): 5'-TCTAATCCC-3'.

Defects in OTX2 are associated with microphthalmia syndromic type 5 (MCOPS5).
