- In direct ELISAs and Western blots, less than 2% cross-reactivity with recombinant human OSM is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody by the LAL method.
Target Information
Oncostatin M (OSM) is a growth and differentiation factor involved in neurogenesis, osteogenesis, and hematopoiesis. It is produced by activated T cells, monocytes, and Kaposi’s sarcoma cells, and can exert both stimulatory and inhibitory effects on cell proliferation. OSM promotes fibroblast, smooth muscle, and Kaposi’s sarcoma cell proliferation, while inhibiting some normal and tumor cell lines. It also induces cytokine release (IL-6, GM-CSF, G-CSF) from endothelial cells and enhances LDL receptor expression in hepatoma cells. Structurally and functionally related to LIF, IL-6, and CNTF.
