Target Information
CD14는 55 kDa의 GPI-결합 당단백질로, 성숙한 단핵구, 대식세포 및 호중구 표면에 지속적으로 발현됩니다. CD14는 다기능성 LPS 수용체로 작용하며, 분비형 및 효소적으로 절단된 GPI-결합형 형태로 혈청에 존재합니다. LPS-binding protein (LBP)에 의해 촉매되는 반응을 통해 lipopolysaccharide 분자와 결합하며, sCD14는 lipopolysaccharide의 구조적 차이를 구별하고 혈청 내 LPS를 중화하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다. 또한 CD14는 세포자멸(apoptosis)된 세포에 결합할 수 있으며, 알레르기·염증·감염 과정에 영향을 미칩니다. 대체 스플라이싱은 동일한 CD14 아이소폼을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이체를 생성합니다. CD14 기능 이상과 관련된 질환으로는 Mycobacterium chelonae 감염 및 크룹(Croup)이 알려져 있습니다.
