Product Specific Information

Antibody detects endogenous levels of TAK1 only when phosphorylated at Ser439.

Target Information

TAK1 (also known as MAP3K7) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in multiple signaling pathways. It interacts with TGF-β receptor and TRAF6 to modulate activation of JNK and p38, and also participates in Wnt, BMP, and activin signaling. TAK1 regulates wound healing by promoting von Hippel-Lindau tumor suppressor expression and repressing PDGF-B and integrins. It plays a key role in IKK activation through IL-1, IL-6, IL-18, TNF, CD40, TLR, and RIG-I pathways. Activation involves TAB2/3 binding and polyubiquitination, followed by TAK1 autophosphorylation at Thr178, Thr184, Thr187, and Ser192, leading to IKK-β phosphorylation. TAK1 also represses human telomerase reverse transcriptase, suggesting a role in cell lifespan regulation.
