Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and has two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells defined by kappa or lambda light chains and may also be expressed on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and plays a central regulatory role in B cell proliferation and differentiation. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression causes B cell hyperactivity.
