Product Specific Information
This GI191E monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and human Bcl-6, also known as B-cell lymphoma 6. Bcl-6 is a member of the POZ family of transcriptional repressors and is highly expressed in germinal center B cells, differentiating and activated B cells. This 79-kDa protein is essential for germinal center B cell proliferation and survival, and plays a critical role in pre-B cell survival during development.
Bcl-6 is constitutively expressed in diffuse large B cell lymphomas (DLBCLs), Burkitt’s lymphoma, and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It is also found in CD4+ T follicular helper cells and memory T cells, and is known to be antagonized by Blimp-1.
Applications Reported: Immunoblotting (WB) and immunohistochemistry (FFPE).
Applications Tested: Tested on reduced cell lysate from A20 cells and human tissue using high pH antigen retrieval. Recommended use ≤ 5 µg/mL, titrate for optimal performance.
Purity: >90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.
Aggregation: <10%, determined by HPLC.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
Bcl-6 proto-oncogene product is a Kruppel-type zinc-finger protein mainly expressed in germinal center B cells and related lymphomas. It is involved in chromosome rearrangements at 3q27 in non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas, detected in 33–45% of diffuse large B cell lymphomas. Immunohistochemical detection includes follicular lymphomas, diffuse large B cell lymphomas, Burkitt’s lymphomas, and nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin’s disease.
