Target Information
GAD-65와 GAD-67은 group II decarboxylase 계열 단백질로, L-glutamic acid로부터 GABA(gamma-aminobutyric acid)를 생성하는 속도 결정 단계의 촉매 역할을 합니다.
두 단백질 모두 뇌에 존재하지만, GAD-65는 신경 말단의 시냅스 소포막에 위치하고 GAD-67은 세포 전체에 분포합니다.
GAD-67은 기본적인 GABA 합성에 관여하며, 신경전달 중 GABA 요구량이 증가할 경우 GAD-65가 일시적으로 활성화되어 생산을 돕습니다.
GAD-65의 결손은 GABA 신경전달에 문제를 일으키며, GAD-67의 결손은 치명적입니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 GAD-67에는 두 가지 isoform(GAD-67, GAD-25)이 존재합니다.
