Product Specific Information
This 10/78 monoclonal antibody recognizes rat CD161a (NKR-P1A), a type II transmembrane C-type lectin expressed on NK cells, T cells, and monocytes. In rats, CD161a is also detected on B220+ B cells and is involved in NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity through phosphoinositide turnover and calcium mobilization.
The 10/78 clone recognizes both NKR-P1A and NKR-P1B.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on rat splenocytes; ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell count may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration recommended for optimal results.
PerCP-eFluor® 710 can replace PE-Cy5, PE-Cy5.5, or PerCP-Cy5.5.

Target Information
KLRB1 (CD161) is a type II membrane protein expressed on NK cells and a subset of CD3⁺ T cells. It forms a homodimer (40–44 kDa) and serves as an inhibitory receptor on NK cells. Activation induces ceramide production via SMPD1, AKT1/PKB, and RSK1 kinase activation, promoting T cell proliferation.
KLRB1 binds Gal-α(1,3)Gal and N-acetyllactosamine epitopes, as well as CLEC2D/LLT1 ligand, inhibiting NK cell cytotoxicity and IFN-γ secretion.
