Target Information
Rho-related GTP-binding protein (RhoB) mediates apoptosis in neoplastically transformed cells after DNA damage. Although not essential for development, it influences cell adhesion and growth factor signaling in transformed cells.
RhoB targets PKN1 to endosomes and is involved in trafficking of the EGF receptor from late endosomes to lysosomes. It is also required for the stability and nuclear trafficking of AKT1/AKT, promoting endothelial cell survival during vascular development.
RhoB serves as a tumor suppressor — deletion of RhoB can lead to tumor formation.
