Target Information
Ataxia-telangiectasia Mutated (ATM) 단백질은 PI3/PI4 kinase 계열에 속하며, DNA 이중가닥 절단 복구에 중요한 역할을 하는 단백질입니다. ATM 유전자의 결함은 신경퇴행, 면역결핍, 림프계 암 위험 증가를 특징으로 하는 상염색체 열성 질환인 ataxia-telangiectasia를 유발합니다.
ATM은 단백질 인산화를 통해 P53, Mdm2, BRCA1, SMC1 등 세포주기 조절 단백질을 조절하며, DNA 손상에 대한 세포 반응, 세포 주기 조절, 세포사멸(apoptosis) 및 DNA 복구 경로에 관여합니다. 방사선 노출 시 ATM은 자가 인산화되어 활성화되며, DNA 손상 반응 신호전달 경로를 유도합니다.
