Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and purified Glutathione-S-Transferase (Schistosoma japonicum). Cross-reactivity with GST from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
Glutathione S-transferase (GST) is a 26 kDa protein found in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic organisms, catalyzing various reactions. GST is commonly used in the GST gene fusion system, enabling purification of fusion proteins through glutathione affinity. Such fusion proteins are valuable for studying direct protein–protein interactions. The GST gene fusion system is incorporated into numerous expression vectors.
