Target Information
CDC42BPB (MRCK beta) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in actin cytoskeleton assembly and organization.
MRCK-alpha and MRCK-beta (myotonic dystrophy kinase-related Cdc42-binding kinases) contain a cysteine-rich motif and a pleckstrin homology domain.
These kinases can phosphorylate nonmuscle Myosin light chain, influencing Actin-Myosin contractility.
MRCK-alpha activates LIM kinases downstream of Cdc42, leading to ADF/Cofilin inactivation and cytoskeletal reorganization.
It also contributes to neurite outgrowth mediated by Cdc42 and Rac.
