PAK6는 고환 및 전립선에서 발현되는 세린/트레오닌 키나아제로, 에스트로겐 및 안드로겐 수용체와 결합합니다.
p21-activated kinases (PAKs)는 Cdc42 및 Rac의 활성 형태와 결합하는 세린-트레오닌 키나아제 그룹으로, PAK1, 2, 3을 포함하는 그룹 1과 PAK4, 5, 6을 포함하는 그룹 2로 나뉩니다.
그룹 1 PAKs는 세포 내 전사, 세포자멸사, 형태 및 이동성에 관여하며, 그룹 2 PAKs는 Cdc42/Rac에 의해 활성화되지 않지만, MAP kinase kinase 6 및 p38 MAP kinase에 의해 활성화될 수 있어 스트레스 관련 신호 반응에 관여할 수 있습니다.
