Target Information
The nuclear pore complex is a massive structure that spans the nuclear envelope, regulating macromolecule transport between the nucleus and cytoplasm. Nucleoporins are key components of this complex in eukaryotic cells. The NUP50 protein functions as a soluble cofactor in importin-alpha:beta-mediated nuclear protein import. Pseudogenes are located on chromosomes 5, 6, and 14, and two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
