Target Information

GADD153 (also known as DDIT3 or CHOP) is a small nuclear protein that dimerizes with transcription factors C/EBPα and C/EBPβ. This dimer inhibits normal C/EBP binding to classical sites and gains affinity for stress-related targets. Normally undetectable, GADD153 expression is strongly induced under cellular or ER stress conditions such as tunicamycin treatment, nutrient starvation, or disruption of calcium flux across the ER membrane.
