Secreted Frizzled-Related Proteins (sFRPs)는 Wnt 단백질과 수용체 결합에 관여하는 Frizzled 단백질의 시스테인 풍부 영역과 상동성을 가진 당화된 Wnt 길항제 계열입니다. sFRP4는 다양한 배아 및 성체 조직에서 발현되며, Wnt 신호 경로를 억제함으로써 항혈관신생, 세포자멸 촉진, 인슐린 분비 억제, 종양 성장 및 전이 억제 역할을 합니다. sFRP4의 감소는 여러 암종(난소암, 자궁내막암, 전립선암, 폐암)의 진행과 관련이 있으며, 반대로 sFRP4의 증가된 발현은 제2형 당뇨병의 포도당 대사 악화 및 건선과 관련된 각질형성세포 과증식 억제와 연관되어 있습니다.
