Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit, composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins. The DNCLI1 gene encodes a ribosomal protein component of the 40S subunit, belonging to the S12E family. It is localized in the cytoplasm and shows increased expression in colorectal cancers compared to normal colonic mucosa. Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
