Target Information
이 유전자는 번역 억제 단백질 패밀리의 구성원을 암호화합니다. 해당 단백질은 eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E)와 직접 결합하여, 리보솜 40S 소단위를 mRNA의 5' 말단으로 모집하는 복합체의 형성을 억제함으로써 번역을 억제합니다.
이 단백질은 UV 조사나 인슐린 신호전달 등 다양한 자극에 의해 인산화되어 eIF4E로부터 해리되며, mRNA 번역이 활성화됩니다.
