Target Information

EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates cell signaling in response to growth factors. Overexpression is associated with various cancers.
EGFR is encoded by the EGFR gene on chromosome 7 and belongs to the HER/ERbB family (ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4).
Ligand binding (e.g., EGF, TGF-α) induces receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues.
Overexpression has been observed in tumors of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, esophagus, and squamous cell carcinoma.
