EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)은 다양한 성장인자에 반응하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로, 여러 종류의 암에서 과발현되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 인간의 7번 염색체에 위치한 EGFR 유전자로부터 발현되며, HER/ERbB 단백질 패밀리(ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4 포함)에 속합니다. EGF 또는 TGF-α 등의 리간드가 결합하면 EGFR은 이합체를 형성하고 세포질 도메인의 티로신 잔기가 자가 인산화되어 신호전달을 유도합니다. EGFR 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 난소 등 다양한 종양에서 관찰됩니다.
