Target Information
EID2 interacts with EP300 and acts as a repressor of MYOD-dependent transcription and muscle differentiation.
It inhibits EP300 histone acetyltransferase activity and represses TGFB/SMAD transcriptional responses.
EID2 may specifically block formation of TGFB-induced SMAD3-SMAD4 complex, acting as a selective repressor in TGFB/SMAD3-dependent signaling.
