Target Information
STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) is a 379-amino acid signaling protein that plays a key role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferons (IFN-α, IFN-β) and promote antiviral responses. STING may also participate in translocon function and apoptotic signal transduction via its association with MHC class II. It is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is expressed in most tissues.
