Target Information
STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) is a 379 amino acid signaling protein that plays a crucial role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferons (IFN-α, IFN-β) and establish an antiviral state. STING is also involved in apoptotic signaling through association with MHC-II and mediates death signaling via the ERK pathway. It is mainly localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed in most tissues.
