Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells respond to thermal and chemical stress by inducing a group of genes collectively designated as heat shock genes.
In eukaryotes, this gene expression is regulated primarily at the transcription level. Heat shock transcription factors (HSF1 and HSF2) are involved in this regulation.
HSF1 and HSF2 are upregulated by estrogen at both mRNA and protein levels. HSF1 is normally a monomer with repressed transcriptional activity due to constitutive phosphorylation. Upon activation, HSF1 forms trimers, gains DNA-binding activity, and translocates to the nucleus.
HSF2 activity is associated with differentiation and development and, like HSF1, binds DNA as a trimer. Both HSF1 and HSF2 are induced by proteasome inhibitors of the ubiquitin pathway.
