Target Information

The IP3 Receptor 1 is an intracellular calcium channel mediating calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum upon stimulation by inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate.
It regulates epithelial secretion of electrolytes and fluids via interaction with AHCYL1 and plays a role in ER stress-induced apoptosis. Cytoplasmic calcium released from the ER activates CaM kinase II, leading to downstream apoptotic pathways.
