SIRP beta and SIRP gamma are members of the signal regulatory protein (SIRP) family, transmembrane receptors expressed on immune and neuronal cells. They regulate cellular signaling pathways involved in immune responses, cell adhesion, and phagocytosis. These proteins interact with SHP-1, a protein tyrosine phosphatase that negatively regulates immune cell activation, promoting immune tolerance. Additionally, SIRP beta and gamma are implicated in neuronal signaling and synaptic plasticity, contributing to synapse formation and maintenance.
