Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of AXL only when phosphorylated at Tyr702.
Target Information
AXL is a chronic myelogenous leukemia-associated oncogene also linked to colon cancer and melanoma. It encodes a receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates signal transduction from the extracellular matrix into the cytoplasm. AXL binds growth factors such as GAS6 and is involved in cell proliferation and phagocytosis of apoptotic cells. Mice lacking TAM receptors exhibit degenerative and autoimmune phenotypes. AXL may also function as an entry receptor for filoviruses and marks a specific dendritic cell subpopulation (Siglec 6+/Axl+). Its expression can be upregulated by TLR ligands, and soluble AXL levels may indicate inflammation or cancer.
